Flameless Venting Device
Release explosion pressure safely while keeping flames and hot gases from escaping into the surrounding area.

How it works
A flameless venting device is fitted over a vent opening. When an explosion starts, the expanding gases pass through a stainless steel element that cools them and extinguishes the flame, so the pressure is released without a fireball. This allows venting where a conventional vent cannot discharge outdoors.
Typical applications
- Dust collectors and silos inside buildings
- Equipment next to walkways, workstations or other plant
- Process areas where a vent duct to the outside is impractical
Standards and guidance commonly referenced for this product type
These are general references. Compliance and test reports for a specific product are provided per project.
When is flameless venting used instead of a vent panel?
Flameless venting is used when the vent cannot discharge to a safe outdoor area, for example for equipment inside a building. The device must be selected for the specific material and sized for the enclosure, because it changes the pressure that builds up during the explosion. It does not replace a correct explosion risk assessment.
