Safe Monitoring Room
Blast-resistant control rooms that let operators monitor operations safely in facilities where an explosion is possible. They protect operator safety while keeping critical operations under supervision.

How it works
A blast-resistant monitoring room, or control room, lets operators supervise a plant from a protected place. It has a reinforced structure, a blast-rated door and windows, and a sealed, filtered ventilation inlet if a gas release is possible. Cable and pipe entries are sealed so the protection is not weakened.
Typical applications
- Plant control rooms near hazardous areas
- Remote operation of process units
- Observation posts at industrial sites
Standards and guidance commonly referenced for this product type
These are general references. Compliance and test reports for a specific product are provided per project.
Where should a monitoring room be placed?
As far from the hazard as practical, with entrances on the side away from the likely source. A siting study based on API RP 752 or similar guidance compares the likely blast loads with the strength of the building before the location is fixed.
