Industrial Safe Production Areas
Production areas engineered for facilities with explosion risk, designed to protect personnel and minimise the effects of a blast. They are built from special steel construction with an architecture that disperses energy.

How it works
A blast-resistant production area protects people and critical equipment while a process with an explosion risk runs next to them. Walls, roof and openings are designed for a defined blast load, so the effect of an explosion in the plant is limited. Layout, doors and ventilation are planned together with the process, not added afterwards.
Typical applications
- Chemical, energy and defence production lines
- Rooms next to hazardous process areas
- Plant areas that must keep working during an incident
Standards and guidance commonly referenced for this product type
These are general references. Compliance and test reports for a specific product are provided per project.
How is the blast load for a production building defined?
It starts with a hazard study of the process: which materials could explode, how much, and how far from the building. From this, a design blast load (peak pressure, impulse and duration) is set. Recognised guidance such as API RP 752 or ASCE 59-11 describes how buildings are assessed and designed for it.
Technical specifications, protection levels and test reports are provided per project. Contact our engineers for details.
