CO₂ Filtration System

Control the build-up of carbon dioxide in enclosed spaces to improve air quality.

CO₂ Filtration System

How it works

In a sealed room, people breathe out carbon dioxide and its concentration rises. A CO₂ filtration system, or scrubber, passes room air over a chemical absorbent that binds the carbon dioxide and returns cleaner air to the room. It allows a sealed shelter to stay closed for longer without fresh-air supply.

Typical applications

  • Sealed shelters and refuges
  • Rooms that must stay closed for long periods
  • Closed-environment applications
Why does CO₂ matter in a sealed room?

Each person adds carbon dioxide as they breathe. Occupational limits are commonly set at 5,000 ppm (0.5 %) as an 8-hour average, and higher levels cause headaches and poor concentration and become dangerous. The number of people, the room volume and the time sealed decide how much scrubbing is needed.
